After ‘refusing’ posting, Bihar cop joins ACB

June 17, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A senior Bihar policeman - who had reportedly refused posting in anti-corruption branch (ACB) of Delhi government - has joined the anti-graft body.

“Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Bharti has joined Delhi ACB,” a senior government official said.

When asked about reports of Bharti refusing to join the ACB earlier, the official said that he had never rejected the posting. “He had never refused to join Delhi ACB. He could not join the ACB earlier due to health reasons. But now he has joined,” the official added.

Earlier this month, induction of five Bihar policemen in Delhi ACB had triggered turf war between the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and the AAP Government. Last week, ACB chief M.K. Meena, had written to the L-G saying that postings of the Bihar policemen in the anti-graft body by Delhi government were in violation of Police Act, 1888.- PTI
