AAP failed to fulfil promises: Cong

Starting a week-long campaign against the Aam Aadmi Party government, the Delhi Congress on Thursday said the party had failed to fulfil the promises made ahead of the 2015 elections.

AAP’s 3rd anniversary

Ahead of the AAP government’s third anniversary on February 14, former Delhi Assembly Speaker and Delhi Congress leader Yoganand Shastri said that the AAP had made hollow promises.

He added that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had “taken out a funeral procession of his own ideology himself”, replacing honesty and transparency for personal and political gain.

Referring to the AAP’s anti-corruption plank, Dr. Shastri said the Jan Lokpal Bill as promised by Arvind Kejriwal was nowhere to be seen three years since the AAP came to power.

“Even if we search around now with an umbrella in hand, we cannot find the Lokpal now,” he said, adding that the Jan Lokpal Bill passed in the Delhi Assembly was “weak”.
