AAP alleges corruption in waste management by BJP-ruled civic bodies

New Delhi The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday alleged corruption by the BJP-governed municipal corporations in waste management in the city.

East Delhi Municipal Corporation Leader of the Opposition Manoj Tyagi said that BJP-ruled municipal corporation’s door-to-door garbage collection scheme costs ₹70 crore, and now a private company is being paid ₹280 crore annually for the same work.

Still, waste has not been collected from the streets and colonies for the past one week, Mr. Tyagi said.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has termed it as a “false campaign” against private companies involved in garbage collection and alleged that AAP leaders are actually trying to pressurise these companies into paying commission.
