Aadhaar card for all in Gurgaon by June

Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner T.L. Satya Prakash has said that the district will achieve universal Aadhaar saturation within six months. The district administration and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) have chalked out a comprehensive plan to achieve this target.

Mr. Prakash said that according to estimates by the UIDAI, nearly 3.7 lakh people in the district still do not have Aadhaar cards. In order to cover this remaining population in a time-bound manner, 10-15 more enrolment kits are planned to be deployed in the district by mid-January. This will take the total number of enrolment kits to 59 from the present 44, through which approximately 3,000 residents will be enrolled every day.

According to the UIDAI authorities, of the 26 per cent population left out of the Aadhaar ambit, nine per cent are children in the age group of 0-5 years.

Mr. Prakash further added that Gurgaon district has a total of 4,92,525 LPG consumers, of which 73.37 per cent have obtained their Aadhaar cards. All these consumers have been advised to get their Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts linked with their gas connections to avail the benefits of the DBT-L Scheme, so that the subsidy amount can be transferred directly into their bank accounts.

The PAHAL form for linking of the bank accounts with gas consumer connection is available free of cost with all LPG distributors. It can also download from the Gurgaon district administration website .
