A week after controversial speech, Sadhvi holds rally in Trilokpuri

In her first public appearance after the controversy surrounding her controversial speech, Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti on Monday addressed a ‘nukkad sabha’ in Trilokpuri that witnessed communal tension recently.

The venue of her speech was, however, shifted from Block-36 in Trilokpuri where the riots happened to a place near Himmatnagar extension in Block-34.

“We requested the organisers to shift the venue and they readily agreed keeping in mind the sensitive situation in the area,” a senior police officer confirmed.

In her speech, Ms. Jyoti took a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress. “AAP made government after asking the public, but did they ask you all when they left and ran away? Ideology is must to rule and they don’t have any,” she said.

Taking a dig at the Congress, she said, “People are asking what the government has done in the last six years when they themselves are not able to give an account of what they did in the last 60 years. Those who visited the poor and had food with them actually did nothing for them because poverty cannot be alleviated by eating or living the poor but by good governance. Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojna is for the poor,” she said.
