Noida schoolgirl dies after getting injured during karate session

A seven-year old girl died after allegedly getting injured during a karate session on Tuesday in DPS World School in Noida Extension. The student, identified as Ghazal Yadav, suffered head injuries and collapsed on the floor. She was rushed to a private hospital in Greater Noida where she succumbed to injuries during treatment.

Phone call over headache

The student’s father Lal Chand Yadav is general manager, operations with Asentech India Private Limited. The family lives in Steller Jeevan apartment in Greater Noida.

Yadav said that he was in office when a school teacher called and informed that Ghazal had a headache. The teacher further said that the student needed to be taken home. “After half an hour I received another call. The school officials informed me that Ghazal was bleeding from the nose and that she was being admitted in a Kailash Hospital,” Yadav said.

School closed for a day

The school management on Wednesday closed the school following the incident. Jyoti Arora, the school principal, was not available for comment.

Awdhesh Awasthi, SHO, Eco-Tech III, said that he visited the school and found it closed.

“We have questioned the security guards. We will question the school officials once the school opens on Thursday,” he said.
