: A Bawana resident has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his two minor daughters and abusing his wife for months.
The matter came to light when their neighbour approached the Delhi Commission for Women which reported the matter to the police.
A senior police officer said the accused had raped his elder daughter (17 ) for the first time a year ago and the younger one (14) on Diwali last year.
The victims further said that their father would lock them up in a room and force himself on them in the presence of others. When their mother would try to stop him, he would allegedly thrash her.
‘Victims threatened’
He would also threaten to push the children off the balcony if they reported the matter to anyone, the girls said.
A case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act has been registered against him.
Probe has revealed that the accused, who works a tractor driver in outer Delhi, is addicted to drugs and alcohol.
The police are also investigating whether he had assaulted other children in the locality as well.
The girls, meanwhile, have been sent to a shelter home.
