The chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Swati Maliwal on Monday met newly-appointed Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal and discussed with him the issues pending since the tenure of his predecessor Najeeb Jung.
Women’s safety
“Ms. Maliwal met the L-G and discussed increasing crimes against women in Delhi and possible solutions to ensure their safety. Issues which have not been resolved and are pending since previous L-G’s tenure, including non-payment of salaries to contractual staff were also raised,” a DCW official said.
Mr. Baijal has sought a detailed note on the suggestions of the DCW vis-a-vis improving women safety in the Capital as well as the problems being faced by the commission in its functioning. — PTI
