Left parties on Monday staged demonstrations in the national capital as part of the Bharat Bandh and blocked traffic in some parts.

Senior leaders A.B. Bardhan and D. Raja (CPI) and Brinda Karat (CPI—M) participated in the demonstration at ITO besides a large number of activists.

The four Left parties - CPI(M), CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc - organised a protest demonstration at the busy ITO Chowk, which connects east Delhi with the heart of the capital.

The Left parties organised protests at nine places in the capital while three demonstrations were organised in Ghaziabad and one in Noida. Out of the total 13 demonstrations by the Left, three were organised by CPI(M) alone.
