Jain in Bangkok for health conference

Health Minister Satyendar Jain will present the Delhi government’s health model, including its mohalla clinics concept, at a three-day international conference in Bangkok beginning on Wednesday.

The conference is being jointly organised by the World Health Organization, the World Bank, and the Rockefeller Foundation, in association with the Thailand government.

Nobel laureate and noted economist Amartya Sen will also be briefed during the conference about the initiatives taken by the Delhi government for the improvement of the health sector, particularly its emphasis on affordable health care facilities for disadvantaged and marginalised groups.
