July 31, 2010 12:53 pm | Updated 12:53 pm IST - New Delhi

Heavy rains lashed the national capital on Saturday resulting in traffic snarls in many areas due to water logging.

The showers led to traffic jams on the BRT corridor, Sheikh Sarai, Chirag Delhi, Anzal Plaza, Siri Fort, Mehrauli, Lajpat Nagar, Raja Garden, Ashram and Mongolpuri among other localities.

The rains also uprooted trees in many areas.

The minimum temperature recorded was 27.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.

So far, the city has received a total 242.2 mm of rains after the monsoon touched the capital on July 5.
