Govt to organise Uttaryani festival

The Delhi government is going to organise ‘Uttaryani festival’, a celebration of the culture and heritage of Uttarakhand and Purvanchali area.

The festival, which started with four programmes in its initial year, will be hosting 20 colourful programmes this year as part of Uttaryani Mahotsav.

The festival started on Wednesday and will continue till January 14 at Patparganj with an Uttaryani event on January 12 at Badrinath Mandir, West Vinod Nagar. The festival will see performances by Gajender Rana, Bishan Hariyala and Mukesh Kataith among other folk artists.

Kapil Mishra, Art and Culture Minister, will be present at the event along with senior bureaucrats from the Delhi government.
