Govt staff campaigning for AAP, says BJP

January 31, 2017 01:06 am | Updated 01:06 am IST - New Delhi:

Delhi BJP spokespersons Ashok Goel and Harish Khurana have complained about “active involvement of several Delhi government employees in political campaigning” in favour of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on social media, in a letter to Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal

The BJP complained that service rules prohibit government employees— even those on coterminous or contractual jobs — from participating in political activities.

The BJP leaders said that the Arvind Kejriwal-led government “has appointed many of its party volunteers” on coterminous government jobs and also as consultants who were “actively promoting AAP while sitting in the Delhi Secretariat”.
