Four youths, including two brothers, were arrested in the capital today for allegedly abducting and raping a 20-year-old computer teacher after a scuffle with her colleague.

The girl was going back home on Monday evening when she was abducted allegedly by the men and raped near a railway track in Sultanpuri. She was left by the men near the track after the assault, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Sharad Aggarwal, said here.

The arrested persons were identified as Rama (20), his brother Harish (22), Nirnanjan (20) and Dilip (23).

The victim and her colleague Satya Parkash were going to her residence in Arvind Enclave, Nangloi when the incident took place.

“There they were intercepted by three men who dragged her across to the tracks. She was sexually assaulted by two persons,” Aggarwal said. The arrest came following the description given by Parkash.

Niranjan and Dilip were arrested first and their questioning led to the arrest of two others Rama and Harish.

Harish, who is married and has a six-month-old child, went to a liquor shop along with Dilip on Monday evening where they met the others and consumed alcohol.

“While returning, they saw the girl and Parkash walking. Taking advantage of darkness and the deserted stretch, one of the accused assaulted the man and forced him to flee from the spot,” Aggarwal said.
