The counsel for three servants, who were released after being named as accused in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case, today said they will seek compensation and will also ask the court to start proceedings against those officials who had arrested the trio.

“We will seek compensation for the trauma that (Krishna, Raj Kumar and Vijay Mandal) underwent. CBI always knew who the culprits were but still arrested the three,” Naresh Yadav told PTI.

He said they will also “ask the court to prosecute those who had arrested the three.”

His assistant counsel Yuvraj Kamal Pasha said Rs one crore compensation will be sought. Mr. Yadav said the CBI should also book those identified under Section 201 IPC for destruction of evidence.

“CBI has said that certain people destroyed the evidence. The agency should book them under Section 201,” he said.

Mr. Yadav also said the CBI should continue their investigation and bring justice to the victims.

CBI had on December 29 filed a closure report in the sensational murder case of 14-year-old Aarushi and her servant Hemraj in May 2008 and gave a clean chit to three servants of the doctor couple.

Teenager Aarushi was found murdered with her throat slit at the Talwar’s residence in Noida near Delhi on the morning of May 16, 2008. The body of Hemraj, their domestic help, was found on the terrace the next day.
