7 robbers arrested

Seven robbers have been arrested for allegedly committing two armed robberies in north-west Delhi, the police said on Wednesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Vijayanta Arya said that the accused have been identified as Raj Kumar, Parveen Sheoran, Ranjeet Sharma, Vikas Narwal, Ajeet Sehrawat, Vishal Rao, and a minor.

The police said that on September 7, Mahender Pal Narang, a jeweller, reported that he was shot at and robbed of ₹5 lakh and gold by two men.

During investigation, the police said that the team of special staff visited the scene of crime of robbery, route from shop to residence, CCTVs were checked all around the area and more than 500 CCTV footages were analysed to identify and nab the accused. On Tuesday, the accused were arrested from Sant Samagam on a tip-off, Ms. Arya said.
