Five men, who had murdered a dairy employee , were arrested by the Crime Branch.

Yogesh Sharma (22), Ajeet Kumar (29), Parveen Kumar (20), Rinku (24), and Devender Singh (24) were wanted in what had initially seemed to be a blind murder case executed in Dwarka in late April, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime). “On interrogation, Yogesh disclosed that he had been married recently, but his wife left him due to his miserable financial condition. He shared his grievances with his friends, and now his co-accused in the case. They made a plan to rob a cash delivery boy,” said Mr. Yadav.

“Ajeet informed him that a milk dairy was situated at Sevak Park near Dwarka More where his friend Devender and Rinku were employed. Sonu, who used to carry the dairy’s daily collection from Dwarka to Rajender Nagar on his motorcycle, was selected as a target,” Mr. Yadav said.

On April 28, the gang assembled at Dwarka More. Parveen gave a country made pistol to Devender.

Yogesh and Devender went to the NSIT located in Dwarka which the delivery boy used to pass by on his bike daily. “They stopped the delivery boy at gunpoint and tried to snatch the cash bag, which he was carrying. But he strongly resisted. Yogesh fired at him, but could not snatch the bag as the public gathered there and forced the gang to flee,” said Mr. Yadav.
