With the arrest of four persons, the Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday claimed to have solved the gang-rape of a 35-year-old woman in a moving car. She was abducted from Gurugram on Monday night and dumped in Greater Noida’s Kasna on Tuesday morning.
One absconding
Rahul (25) and Naresh (24) are residents of Greater Noida, while Raashid (26) and Ashru (26) belong to Haryana. Main accused Kishan (24) is absconding and a manhunt has been launched to nab him, the police said. The car has also been recovered by the police. Meanwhile, medical reports confirmed gang-rape.
Naresh and Rahul run a private taxi business. Kishan, who was a driver earlier, is now a security guard in Kasna. The police said the trio live in the same village and knew one another. Kishan had allegedly told Naresh and Rahul about sex workers on M.G. Road in Gurugram. Ashru is allegedly a pimp, while Raashid is an auto driver who is also involved in the flesh trade.
The police said the woman hails from Baharatpur in Rajasthan and was allegedly in touch with Ashru. Gautam Budh Nagar Senior Superintendent of Police Love Kumar said Rahul, Naresh and Kishan had gone to Gurugram’s M.G. Road looking for a sex worker. They came in contact with Raashid, who allegedly charged ₹3,000 to provide one. They took her to a place near Faridabad and had sex.
“When they demanded sex once again, she refused and asked them to drop her at M.G. Road. However, they gangraped her in the moving car and took her to Kasna, where she was thrown out of the car around 2.30 a.m. She was beaten up and had injuries on her body, including the face. She was brought to Greater Noida via Kalindi Kunj from Faridabad. She and the accused were under the influence of alcohol,” he said.
Phone traced
The men reportedly forced her to drink and kept her phone with them. The phone helped the Anti-Extortion and Kasna police station teams nab them. Raashid was detained on Tuesday evening and arrested after he confessed to his involvement in the flesh trade. Ashru, Rahul and Naresh were nabbed on Thursday from Greater Noida. “We had already registered a case of gang-rape. The woman has recorded her statement in front of the Magistrate,” Mr. Kumar said.
The police said the woman is married and has three children, two of whom live with their maternal grandmother and one with the father. She separated from her husband five years ago and came to Gurugram. She lived alone in a rented accommodation in Sohna provided by Raashid.
