Three young men were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly killing an 18-year-old and dumping his body in the Hindon here, the police said.
Arun, Sunil and Gaurav, all in their 20s, were caught doing drugs near a colony under Noida phase-III police station limits, they said.
Chotpur Colony resident Akash was reported missing on August 11, a day after he got into a spat with the accused near the river, a police officer said.
“Akash and his friends were throwing pebbles in the river. The three accused were on the other side of the Hindon. Arun apparently got hit by a pebble. The accused confronted Akash and his friends,” the officer said, adding that they got into an argument.
Later that evening, both the accused and Akash returned to the river.
“They had another argument, following which the accused slit Akash’s throat and dumped his body in the river,” the officer said. The body was found two days later from Bisrakh.
The accused have been booked under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the IPC and remanded in judicial custody, the police said. A knife and bloodstained clothes too been recovered, the police said.
