A three-day diabetes awareness programme was launched by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation at Hindu Rao Hospital on Wednesday. November 14 is observed as World Diabetes Day.

Speaking at the event, Commissioner Madhup Vyas said the civic body will organise free diabetes camps at all its healthcare facilities to help in early detection of diabetes, and take up symptomatic and long-term treatments for the same. A statement by the civic body said the objective of the programme was to spread information on how diabetes can be detected early, managed with lifestyle changes and preventive care. NITI Aayog member Vinod K. Paul was the chief guest at the event.
