Three men were arrested for their alleged involvement in the operation of a gang that used to cheat people on the pretext of renewing the insurance of vehicles in New Delhi.

Identified as Salman Ansari (20), Ilshad Ahmad (22), and Mukul Yadav (22), the trio was handed over to the police based on the complaint of the representative of a prominent insurance company on June 4.

“Salman and Ilshad were caught by the staff of the said insurance company when they came to deliver a forged receipt,” said a senior police officer.

The officer said sustained interrogation of the duo revealed that Mukul ran a call centre at Rani Bagh and employed four women for tele-calling and men for the delivery of forged receipts and collection of money.

According to the police, Mukul had collected client data of different insurance companies through various data vendors. Thereafter, the tele-callers used to contact customers over the phone in an attempt to fraudulently sell them insurance.
