Delhi University’s second cut-off list, which was released late on Monday night, had some good news to offer to aspirants. Most colleges have reduced the percentage required for admissions by 1 to 2 per cent, with many seats still up for grabs.

While seats for most sought-after courses like B.A. (Hons.) English, B.A. (Hons.) Economics, B.Com (Hons.) and B.A. (Hons.) History are still available in many popular colleges, admissions to B.A. Programme has been closed in many.

Among the popular colleges in North Campus, admissions to almost all Humanities and Commerce courses, except Sociology in Hindu College, are still open. Hansraj College has not closed admissions to any of the courses, while IP College has majorly brought down the cut-off for most courses, including B.Sc. Computer Science (Hons.) — the cut-off for which has been come down from 97-100 per cent to 95.5-100 per cent.

Seats for B.A. (Hons.) Economics at Shri Ram College of Commerce are still available. The cut-off for the course has seen a slight dip of 0.5 per cent. In the first cut-off list, the minimum required percentage for admissions was 98.25 percent.

However, all seats for B.Com (Hons.) have been taken despite the fact that the college had declared its cut-off at 97.37 per cent, which is lesser than that of many other North campus colleges like Hansraj, Hindu and Kirori Mal College.

Among colleges in South Campus, Sri Venkateshwara College has closed admissions to most of its courses including B.A. (Hons.) Economics, B.A. (Hons.) English, B.A. (Hons.) History, B.A. (Hons.) Political Science and B.A. (Hons.) Sociology.

Seats for B.A. Programme are, however, still up for grabs in the college with the cut-off having been reduced to 92.5 per cent from 93 per cent. At Lady Shri Ram College all courses have seats available, except B.A. (Hons.) Hindi and B.A. (Hons.) Psychology.

Students looking to get a seat in B.A. (Hons.) Psychology also stand a chance as out of the seven DU colleges offering the subject, Indraprastha College for Women, Keshav Mahavidyalaya and Kamla Nehru College, still have admissions open.

Admissions on the basis of the second cut-off list will start from Tuesday and continue till Thursday. The third cut-off list will be declared on July 4.
