29 cases of malaria in July: report

Twenty-nine cases of malaria, 13 of dengue and 18 of chikungunya have been reported as of July 21, stated a civic body report on vector-borne diseases that was released on Monday.

Mosquito breeding

The report said 4,09,741 houses in Delhi were sprayed and 60,325 houses tested positive for mosquito breeding conditions. Of 64,004 houses issued legal notices over mosquito breeding, 6,389 will face prosecution.

The total number of malaria cases so far stands at 75, compared to 165 cases last July. In the case of dengue, 43 cases have been reported so far, compared to 186 in July last year. The number of chikungunya cases last July was 150 against 34 this year.
