A 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering a transgender during a fight over money collection at a toll plaza in Outer Delhi’s Nangloi on Friday evening.

Pistol recovered

They claim to have recovered a countrymade pistol with three live cartridges.

A police team on patrol noticed a man on a motorcycle take a U-turn after seeing them nears Surajmal Stadium metro station at night.

The police nabbed him after a brief chase. During questioning, he confessed that he killed a 25-year-old transgender in Gurugram a few days ago. “During enquiry, it was found that the bike on which he was travelling was stolen from Paharganj. After sustained interrogation, he confessed that he killed the victim, Rajni, on Wednesday,” said a police officer. When Gurugram police was contacted, they said a case under Sections 302 (murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and other relevant sections of the IPC and Sections 25/54/59 Arms Act were registered at Kherki Daula police station against Surender.

On Wednesday evening, Rajni was shot dead near Gurugram-Delhi Expressway’s Kherki Daula toll plaza, the police said.

They added that there was a fight over the collection of money at the toll plaza in Manesar between two groups.
