28 CBI officers honoured

An SP probing cases against underworld don Chhota Rajan is among the 28 CBI officers who have been conferred medals for distinguished and meritorious services on Republic Day.

SP M. R. Kadole, who is probing cases against Chhota Rajan, has been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

Officers who have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service are SP Jaya Narayan Rana; ASPs Brij Mohan Pandit and Mahesh Kumar Puri; DSP Mahesh Kumar; Inspector Chandrakant Vithal Pujari and head constable Pan Singh Bisht.

Those recognised for meritorious service are DSPs Manoj Banerjee, Rajan Kumar Jha, Tej Pal Singh, R. K. Shivanna, Ginni Rana and Joseph Krelo; and Inspectors Sanjay Kumar Samal, Akshaya Kumar Nanda, Yasir Arfat and Jugal Kishore Joshi.

SI Sunil Kumar and Rajeev Kumar; ASIs Atar Singh and Bhupinder Singh; head constables Ramu Golla and Rajinder Singh; constables E. Velu, Shriom, Krishan Kumar Singh and K. C. Benedict; and constable and crime assistant Manish Sharma have also been conferred the medal for meritorious service.
