1 killed as SUV gets hit by a truck

A 29-year-old man died after he was hit by a truck near Ring Road in Lajpat Nagar on Saturday morning.

A PCR call was received at Lajpat Nagar police station at 3.50 a.m. regarding the accident.

Lost control

An SUV, which was coming from Ashram side, lost control and hit the divider. It then toppled and landed on the other side of the road and rammed into a truck.

Four persons, who sustained injuries in the incident, were rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre. One of them, identified as Dharmender (29), a resident of Sangam Vihar, was declared brought dead. The deceased was the occupant of the SUV, said DCP (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal.

The other two occupants of the SUV, Praveen Singhal and Kapil Panwar are still critical.

The truck driver, Hukum Dev Yadav, is in ICU.

During initial probe it was found that the SUV was being driven rashly. A case has been registered and investigation of the case is on.
