Young Indians (Yi), Coimbatore Chapter, has taken the initiative for a 16-member delegation of young entrepreneurs to go on a five-day study visit to Vietnam.
Jayaprashanth Jayachandran and V. Arun Kumar of Yi Coimbatore, told presspersons here on Wednesday that the delegation will visit Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. The delegates will visit some of the home-grown Vietnam industries and multi-national companies that have manufacturing facilities in Vietnam.
They will have discussions with the senior management and know more about their best practices, skill development, efficiency, and automation.
The delegates are from different cities in the country and from various sectors - textiles, engineering, food processing, technology, etc. Most of the delegates are first generation entrepreneurs. Though they have travelled to other countries, it was mostly to developed countries.
The Yi chose Vietnam for the visit as it was also a developing country and is giving thrust to manufacturing. Apart from Chinese investments in Vietnam, Japan and Korea also had a lot of influence on Vietnam, they said. The delegates would also have a meeting with the Consul General of India in Vietnam, Smita Pant.
