When students of Sankara Educational Institutions wanted to honour Sachin Tendulkar for his contribution to cricket, all that they could think of was to say ‘Thank You’. But this they wanted to do in a big way.

So, they printed a large photograph of the cricketer with the message ‘Thank you Sachin’ in a corner of a huge white sheet so that people can write their own thank you messages with their signatures in the vacant space.

The giant sheet was fixed to a board and kept at the Fun Republic Mall on November 14, where it would catch the eyes of those who visited the mall.

It will remain there till November 17 evening to enable people to say ‘Thank You’.

According to the Deputy Joint Secretary of Sankara Educational Institutions Nithya Ramachandran, the novel idea came from the students.

“The signature programme was not only to honour the person, but sports in general.

There is not much recognition for sports and sportspersons in our country.

This was our way of saying ‘Thank You’ and also giving the public an opportunity to do,” she said.

Once the programme was over, the sheet filled with messages would be sent to Sachin Tendulkar.
