Women robbed of gold chains in Coimbatore

Two women were robbed of gold chains on Tuesday evening in Ramanathapuram and Saibaba Colony. According to the Coimbatore City Police sources, in the first incident in Ramanathapuram Police limits, a pedestrian snatched V. Sornammal's seven-sovereign gold chain around 5 p.m. when she was standing in front of her house in Kongu Nagar. He snatched the chain, ran and vanished in no time. Hearing her cries for help, when residents rushed out for help they could do little, the police said. Police have registered a case in this connection. In the second incident in Venkitapuram in Saibaba Colony Police limits, two persons who were on a motorcycle, snatched V. Amudha's five-and-half sovereign chain around 7 p.m. when she was returning home. They fled in no time, the police said.
