Woman killed in accident

A 45-year-old woman, whose leg was crushed under the wheels of a government bus at Singanallur bus stand on Saturday, died at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Sunday. The deceased, Pandiammal, hails from Dindigul.

Burglary

Burglars broke into the house of Usha at Sundarapuram and decamped with 15 sovereigns of gold jewellery on Sunday evening. Podanur police said burglars gained entry to the house through the window.

Valuables stolen

Ayyammal (62) of SNR College Road has lodged a complaint with the Mettupalayam police that her seven sovereign gold jewellery kept in the hand bag was stolen. She said that the incident took place while she was travelling in a bus on Mettupalayam – Badrakaliamman Temple road. Harija (30) of Kendaiyur, who was also travelling in the same bus, said that her three sovereign gold jewellery kept in the hand bag was also stolen.
