Two unidentified miscreants entered the house of a farmer Karuppasamy at TVK Nagar in Kinathukkadavu and robbed a woman of her jewellery after inflicting injury with a knife.

According to police, two persons came enquiring for Karuppasamy and when his wife Saroja replied in the negative, they stormed into the house and robbed her of a 6.5 sovereign imitation jewellery. The accused took out a knife and tried to stab the victim, but she moved away, suffering only an injury on her arm.

The victim was at home with her daughters Arundadthi (12) and Divya (5).

On hearing an alarm raised by her, the neighbours and passers-by tried to capture the accused but in vain. Police have registered a case.
