Wild Wisdom Quiz held


The State-level finals of the ‘Wild Wisdom Quiz 2019’, organised by WWF-India, was held at the Kongunadu Arts and Science College in the city on Friday.

The quiz competition, held in partnership with the Central Board of Secondary Education and Kongunadu Arts and Science College, witnessed the participation of 120 students from 22 schools across Tamil Nadu.

Renjan Mathew Varghese, attached to WWF-India, Kerala State Office, was the quiz master. B. Gopi Karthick and Dharshan from Amrita Vidyalayam, Ettimadai, emerged winners of the State-level quiz in the middle school level. They will proceed to the national finals in Delhi. Rithvik Bala P. and Tejas R. emerged winners in the junior category.

Organisers said that the 12th edition of the competition was to celebrate the natural world and encourage children to learn more about the planet we live in and its natural wonders through a fun and participatory methodology. This year’s quiz focuses on ‘Exploring our Planet’ inspired by ‘Our Planet’, an eight-part nature documentary series streaming on Netflix, narrated by Sir David Attenborough.

Television artiste Cyrus Sahukar will host the national and international-level finals of Wild Wisdom Quiz on October 19 and 20 in New Delhi, which will see the participation of 15 State-level finals winners in India and national-level winners from other participating countries.
