‘Vision 2023' will be achieved in true spirit: Minister

The ‘Vision 2023' document released by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa will be achieved in true spirit, said Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development K.P. Munusamy, here, recently.

Inaugurating the 41st branch of the Dharmapuri District Central Cooperative Bank in Hosur, Mr. Munusamy said that the new branch adds value to the “Vision 2023'' document as it envisages 10,000 US Dollar per capita income of the people in another 11 years. The basic infrastructure and development schemes would be implemented at the financial outlay of Rs. 15 lakh crores

The DCCB branch will cater to the needs of the business community in the industrial town.

On this occasion, the Minister also distributed 18 tractors and other farm equipment to the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies to serve the farmers at cheaper costs.

Subsidy

Of the total Rs. 4.84 crore, 50 per cent would be given as subsidy from the government and the rest of the finance would be provided by the Dharmapuri District Central Cooperative Bank as interest-free loan.

The government has allocated Rs. 80 crore to the Primary and Middle-level Cooperative Societies to purchase farm equipment to serve its members.

As part of this scheme, the 66 Agricultural Cooperative Societies in the district would purchase 252 farm equipment including tractors and hand over the keys to the Secretaries of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, Mr. Munusamy appealed the farmers to make use of the equipment at minimum rental rates and improve agricultural production.

Collector C.N. Maheshwaran, District Revenue Officer C. Prakasam, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies A. Krishnamoorthy and Hosur Municipality Chairman P. Balakrishna Reddy took part in the function.
