Use water judiciously, people urged

Minister for Municipal Administration and Water Supply S.P. Velumani has urged the people to judiciously use water.

A press release the Coimbatore Corporation issued at the end of a review meeting held here on Saturday, said that the civic body would reach out to people through slides in cinemas, vehicle-mounted advertisements, handbills and FM radio to ensure that they conserved water.

The Corporation was doing all that was possible to supply available water from Siruvani and Pilloor reservoirs and from River Bhavani and River Aliyar.

To meet the future needs of the city , the Corporation was drawing a plan to have another drinking water scheme with Pilloor as the source, the release added.

Senior officials from the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board and Corporation participated in the meeting.
