Two persons died after a scooter they were riding ran into a truck that was parked alongside the road.
The police said that S. Vishnulakshmi (26) was riding the two-wheeler and her nephew G. Harjith (3) was standing in the front of the vehicle.
It is learnt that they were near the Kinathukadavu Taluk Office when their vehicle lost control and hit the truck. The two were rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital but they died.
Worker electrocuted
R. Andhakumar (38) of Kuppuchipalayam was electrocuted while working in a construction site at Lakshmipuram on Wednesday. The police said that he was helping fellow workers carry iron rods for the concrete work when the rod touched a live wire. Andhakumar and worker Lakshwi suffered shock and were rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, where Andhakumar died. The woman is under treatment.
