Two persons were killed in an accident involving two two-wheelers on Pollachi - Coimbatore Road on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as G. Kesavan (20) from Rasipuram in Namakkal, and K. Mohanraj (21) from Ganesh Nagar near Malumichampatty.
The accident took place at Raj Vijay Nagar around 2.30 p.m. when Kesavan, a third year B.Com student, was riding a scooter with his classmates R. Bharath (20) from Sanganur, and A. Arun (20) from Thadagam on the pillion seat.
The scooter collided with the motorcycle which Mohanraj was riding from the opposite direction.
While Mohanraj, who was admitted at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, died at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Kesavan died without responding to treatment at a private hospital an hour later. The two injured were undergoing treatment.
