Two held on murder charge

The police arrested two persons in connection with the murder of T. Raman (24), a private bus cleaner of Edayarpalayam at Sasthri Nagar near Kovilmedu on Sunday night.

The victim who suffered a deep cut was rushed to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital where he died the same night.

Thudiyalur police said that during the vehicle checks conducted immediately as part of the investigations into the incident, the accused namely S. Nandhagopal (24) and A. Deepak Kumar (21), of Vilankurichi were picked up at Vellakinar on Monday.

Preliminary inquiry revealed that Raman and Nandhagopal had a quarrel over an alleged illicit affair with a married woman. On Sunday night, Nandhagopal and Deepakumar came on a bike and Nandhagopal stabbed Raman on his abdomen.
