The turnout at the 33 town panchayats that went to polls on Saturday in the district was the highest among various types of local bodies.
Data from the district administration showed that 73.83 % of the 4.86 lakh voters had exercised their franchise.
In the seven municipalities, 67.09% of 3.36 lakh voters had turned up to vote, the data showed. Overall, the district pollint percentage was 59.61.
