The city police have arrested three persons on Thursday on the charges of stealing motorcycles on the Thadagam Road and at Podanur.
Saibaba Colony Police arrested R. Ranjithkumar for stealing the motorcycle of K. Nagaraj of GCT College Road on Thursday.
In the other incident P. Logu alias Logeswaran of Podanur and his accomplice L. Vellaiyan alias Prabakaran of Kovaipudur were arrested for stealing the motorcycle of V. Kalimuthu from his house at Bharathi Nagar near Podanur on Thursday. The three have been lodged at the Coimbatore Central Prison.
Driver dies
A valet parking driver of a hotel on Raja Street who was injured while at work on Wednesday died at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Thursday. Traffic Investigation Wing Police identified the victim as Shri Sanjay Tamang (36) of Aaka Basti Meri Gaon in Sonitpur District, Assam.
The incident occurred when the victim opened the car’s bonnet to rectify a mechanical problem without applying the hand brake. The vehicle accidentally moved and rammed against a tree. He suffered injuries on chest and head and was rushed to the CMCH where he died.

N. Ayyasamy (45), a labourer of Edikarai, was killed when a private school bus knocked him down from his bike on Thursday evening.
The police said that the accident took place at Chandra Nagar near Edikarai when the two vehicles were coming in the opposite direction.
Ayyasamy died on the way to the CMCH. A case was registered against the school bus driver R. Natarajan (55) under sections 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.

Singanallur Police registered a case against Raja, a building contractor, for failing to provide safety for his labourers. It was learnt that P. Rajkumar (33) of Alankudi in Pudukkottai district fell down and suffered injuries while doing renovation work in a private school at Ondipudur on Tuesday.
He was admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. The building contractor was booked under sections 288 (negligent conduct with respect to pulling down or repairing buildings) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code.
Jewellery missing
Singanallur police have registered a case of 14.5 sovereigns gold jewellery missing from a house at SIHS Colony near Singanallur.
The police said that the complaint R. Suganthi (28) kept the jewellery in an almirah and found that it was missing from April 12.
