Temple consecrated

The maha kumbhabhishekam and pran pratheesta of a new Jain temple for Thirthankara Jeerawala Parshvanath was held in Chokkampudur on Sunday.

According to a release, Minister S.P. Velumani, Mayor P. Rajkumar and senior officials participated in the temple consecration ceremony.

On Sunday evening, in the run up to nine-day consecration festivities, members of the Jain community led by their teachers took out a procession, vargoda, from the R.G. Street temple.

On Monday and Tuesday, the release says that Jain monks and teachers from across the country will be present to bless and teach devotees.
