Technical snag delays train

A sudden technical snag developed in Train no. 56184 Pollachi – Coimbatore passenger led to its delay by nearly two hours on Thursday.

Sources at Palakkad Division of Southern Railway said that the passenger train, which left Pollachi at 7.30 a.m., was stopped at Kinathukadavu at around 7.55 a.m. The snag was due to faulty brakes, which led to the train wheels throwing sparks, the sources added. The rain was halted at Kinathukadavu till 9.50 a.m. According to the schedule, the train wasto arrive at Coimbatore Junction at 8.40 a.m. The issue was resolved by technicians in Coimbatore upon its delayed arrival, the sources said.
