Teacher placed under suspension

A private school in the city has placed under suspension a teacher after she was found to have accidentally caused injuries to the eye of a Class II girl student. The Inspector of Matriculation Schools K. Chandran had issued a notice to the school following this incident. An official inquiry found that the girl was hit in the eye with a stick while the teacher was instructing students to assemble at the school ground during physical education class on January 10. As the school had failed to provide first aid and alert her parents regarding the incident, it was asked to bear her medical expenses.
