The special camps for the summary revision of electoral rolls held in all the 11 Assembly constituencies in the district evoked good response on Sunday.
The voters submitted filled up applications for the inclusion and deletion of names, corrections and change in address in the 3,288 polling stations situated in these 11 constituencies.
The draft electoral rolls were released on September 1 and voters were directed to submit application forms for inclusion, deletion, corrections and change in address from September 1 to October 31.
Those who have completed 18 years of age as on January 1, 2019 (those who were born on December 31, 2000 and before) can enrol their names in the poll rolls by submitting the application forms.
The voters whose names were missing and those who have moved out from once constituency to another too can submit application forms for the inclusion of their names.
They can collect the application forms from the polling stations and the taluk offices.
District Collector Rohini R. Bhajibhakare visited the polling stations in Velur Panchayat Union Primary School and Pattipadi Panchayat Union Middle School on the hill station of Yercaud in Yercaud constituency.
Ms. Rohini said that special gram sabha meetings and meetings of residents’ welfare associations will be held on September 22, October 6 and 10.
Meanwhile, Corporation Commissioner R. Sadheesh visited the polling stations in CSI Polytechnic College in Salem North Assembly constituency, Guhai Moongappadi Girls HSS and Guhai Boys HSS, both in Salem South constituency.

The summary revision of electoral rolls exercise was undertaken in 661 polling stations spread over in the six Assembly constituencies in the district.
District Collector M. Asia Mariam visited the Government Girls HSS in Tiruchengode town, along with V. Baskaran, Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO).
A statement of the Collector said that the district administration has planned to rope in students to motivate the people to participate in the revision exercise. Already 54 students have been identified for this purpose.
