Subair’s police custody ends

The seven-day police custody of Subair (33), an accused in the Hindu Munnani leader Sasikumar’s murder, ended on Friday. He was remanded back in judicial custody and was lodged at the Central Prison.

Hindu Munnani leader Sasikumar was hacked to death by unidentified assailants on September 22 at Subramaniampalayam near Kavundampalayam on the outskirts of the city.

Investigating agency in the case, the CB-CID, recently arrested Subair, who runs an upholstery unit, in connection with the murder. On October 13, the CB CID obtained his police custody. On Thursday, he was taken to the scene of crime and was asked to reconstruct the sequence of incidents that ended up in the murder. CB CID is on the look out for one Mubarak and suspect the hand of one more in the murder.
