Student killed in accident

One of the six students who was injured in a car collision near Anaikatty on Saturday died at a private hospital where they were getting treated, on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mohammed Nadeem.

Thudiyalur Police said that the six students who had completed Plus Two this year went to Anaikatti and were returning to Thadagam when the accident took place.

Their car hit another car that was crossing the main road and rolled over before it stopped about 50-feet-away.

Occupants of the car Mohammed Nadeem, K. Balaji, Balakrishnan, G. Gokulraj, S. Balaji and B. Suraj Srinivas who were badly injured were hospitalised in Coimbatore, where one of them died.

Case against three

Podanur Police have registered a case against three employees of a private coating company at SIDCO for cheating the company by forging documents in taking job orders and illegally selling the products to the tune of more than Rs. 5 lakh between May 22, 2014, and June 5, 2015.

The accused were identified as supervisor of the company Ramakrishnan, clerk Mohammed Gori and watchman Rangasamy. They were booked under sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 381 (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master) of the IPC.
