Signature campaign against child labour


World Vision India and the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) launched a signature campaign against child labour here on Tuesday. They commenced the campaign at the Coimbatore Railway Junction where they have erected a board for this purpose.

The campaign aims to collect a total of one lakh signatures through campaign, after which it would be sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The board would also be taken to Government schools, where awareness programmes would be held on child rights.

The campaign would conclude on Friday.

The objective is to protect child rights, create awareness about this subject and seek Government action to tackle child labour besides rehabilitation of former child workers. L. Chinnaraju, Station Master, inaugurated the campaign. D. Vijayakumar, Project Director, NCLP, K. Vetriselvan John, Programme Manager (Coimbatore), World Vision India, took part.
