NMR to operate special joy rides to boost tourism on September 16 and 23

The Southern Railway, Salem division, will organise ‘Paryatan Parv’ by operating special Nilgiris Mountain Railway (NMR) joy rides between Udhagamandalam and Keeti on September 16 and 23.

The ‘Paryatan Parv’ is being organised across the country from September 16 to 27 with the objective of showcasing the rich cultural diversity of the nation. According to a release, the first trip will begin from Udagamandalam at 10 a.m. and arrive at Lovedale at 10.11 a.m. and will depart at 10.13 a.m. and reach Ketti at 10.30 a.m. In the return direction, the train will depart from Ketti at 11.00 a.m. and reach Udhagamandalam at 11.30 a.m. The second round trip will start from Udhagamandalam at 2.30 p.m. and arrive at Lovedale at 2.41 p.m. and depart at 2.43 p.m. and reach Ketti at 3 p.m. In the return journey the train will start from Ketti at 3.30 p.m. and reach Udagamandalam at 4 p.m.The round the trip services will halt at Ketti for 30 minutes to enjoy the beauty of Ketti station. The train will have a capacity of 80 seats in the first class and 40 seats in the second class. The second class fare would be ₹ 300 and for first class it is ₹ 400.
