A 10-feet ‘Dragon’ and 5-feet ’Dolphin twins’ made of different types of roses are the major attractions at the 10th Rose Show, which began in nearby Udhagamandalam in Nilgiris district today.

However, a huge rose made of different varieties and colour of roses would be the hallmark of the two-day show, which was inaugurated by the district collector, Archana Patnaik, official sources said.

The show, as part of the summer festivities, being held in the Centenary Rose Park, has nearly 30,000 rose plants and over 3,000 varieties of rose, in different colours. More than two lakh people, including tourists both domestic and foreign, visit the show every year, they said.

On sale at the venue would be wine made of rose petals and ’Gulkan, (a jam-like preservator, made of rose water and rose petals), the sources said.
