The Coimbatore district administration observed Rashtriya Sankalp Diwas, the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on Monday.

A release said students took out an awareness rally to mark the occasion. Collector M. Karunakaran flagged off the rally at the Collectorate in the presence of Chief Education Officer N. Anandhi, DRDA Project Officer Manohar Singh and other officials.

Students of St. Michael's Higher Secondary School, Government Cloth Merchants' Girls' Higher Secondary School marched from the Collectorate to Avanshi Road, touched the Coimbatore Taluk Office and returned to the Collectorate.

They carried placards and raised slogans.
