Railway station cleaned

Representatives of five organisations on Saturday joined hands with the railways to organise a ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign at Udhagamandalam Railway Station. The cleanliness drive was held as part of the Railway User Facilitation Fortnight observed from May 26.

Nearly 70 volunteers participated in the campaign. Additional Divisional Railway Manager of Salem Division S.R. Sinha, Assistant Commercial Manager of the division B. Venkatasubramanian, and the Station Manager N. Pramodh were present.

The volunteers were students of the government school of nursing, members of The Awareness Organisation Ooty, and Nilgiri Heritage Steam Chariot, and staff of two hotels.
